Support for the ZAKI Foundation

On December 18, Zahir Shah, founder of the ZAKI Foundation, and Emran Feroz, an Austrian-Afghan freelance journalist and internationally recognized Afghanistan expert, visited us in our English lessons.
While Emran explained the political background and shared his personal experiences in Afghanistan, Zahir gave a presentation in which he talked about how he fled from Afghanistan to Austria and had to learn German from scratch. According to him, this series of events made him realize the importance of education, which inspired him to found the ZAKI Foundation. Its mission is to make education more accessible in Afghanistan.
For this reason, a few students from our class decided to raise money to support the ZAKI Foundation. Our group brought cake and other pastries to an event that took place at our school, and in the end we collected around €400. We were surprised by this generous amount and were really proud of what we had achieved.
A few weeks later, we met Zahir and Christoph from the ZAKI Foundation again and handed over our donation to them. They were very happy, and we enjoyed taking part in this small project because it allowed us to support their organization and help children in Afghanistan who cannot afford an education without this support.
